Rock Stars In the ’80s, Then and Now: Henry Rollins, Michael Stipe, Bob Dylan + More

The ’80s were something special, weren’t they? R.E.M. made their debut with ‘Murmur,’ Henry Rollins joined Black Flag, the Replacements unleashed arguably their greatest album, ‘Let It Be,’ and Soul Asylum claimed their place in punk rock long before ‘Runaway Train’ ever came out.

As we reflect on what a fantastic decade that was, we want to take a peek at what some of our favorite rock stars looked like then … and what they look like now. While some may age better than others — and some appear to have discovered the Fountain of Youth — one thing remains certain: these rock stars were and still are cooler than we’ll ever be!

From Paul McCartney to J Mascis to Bob Mould and beyond, click through the gallery above to see what your favorite rock stars looked like in the ’80s compared to today!
