Chicago pop-punk heroes August Premier are resurrected with their new full length 'Happy Miserable,' to the pleasant surprise of genre devotees nationwide.

The band came to our attention around 2004, amid a wave of releases by Fueled By Ramen, the record company behind their debut album, 'Fireworks & Alcohol.' But label founder John Janick wasn't responsible for the group's Midwest fan base -- he came in after the fact.

Now, August Premier are back with a new lease on life in the music industry, a deal with Pacific Ridge Records and a new album. The single 'Trenches,' opens the band's live sets, as well as the record, and as drummer Mickey Molinari tells Diffuser.fm, "I think it starts off our sets with good energy and lets people who've never seen us before know what our band is about."

August Premier are kicking off the year with a heavy dose of writing for their new EP; this should tide you over until then.
