Iceland's most famous export, musical or otherwise, made her name with the Sugarcubes in the '80s and emerged the following decade as an unlikely MTV darling, exposing Middle American teens to some of the weirdest pop ever to go mainstream.

Bjork's first two solo albums went platinum, and her 1995 Spike Jonze-directed 'It's Oh So Quiet' video stands as one of the era's most memorable clips. The trendsetting pixie has been nominated for 13 Grammys, but she's never nabbed a gramophone statue. (Her 'Biophilia' album won Best Recording Packaging in 2013, but that doesn't count.) Her losing streak ties her with rapper Nas for fourth on the list of Grammy nods without a win.
