Sometimes you hear a band covering another band and you say, "Duh, of course they'd play that." Such is the case with the Black Keys' cover of Edwyn Collins' 'A Girl Like You.' It's OK if you don't remember or have never heard of the tune, since it was only a minor hit back in 1995. The song's biggest claim to fame is probably its appearance on the soundtrack for the '90s flick 'Empire Records.'

The Black Keys performed the cover on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' last night (Sept. 22). Check it out above.

'A Girl Like You' is an awesome song that deserved a little more attention than it got. And it fits perfectly with the Black Keys, given that it's about wanting a woman, and it's driven by a guitar-fuzz chorus with no words (that might describe two-thirds of every Black Keys song ever written). So it's a match made in Heaven, if Heaven was a dingy bar that only served whiskey and beer.

(If you're lucky enough to see the Black Keys on their current tour, you may actually hear them perform the track live, too. Check out their recent cover of the song here.)

The Black Keys also played their current single, 'Gotta Get Away,' and you can watch it out below.

Right now, the Black Keys are wrapping up their U.S. gigs, the last of which are a pair of shows at the United Center in Chicago on Sept. 28-29. They load up the bus and hit the road again toward the end of October, playing a handful of shows in Canada before returning to the states.
