The Cure Play Epic 45-Song Set Filled With Rarities

The Cure played an epic three-hour, 45-song set the other night filled with classics, rarities and a ‘Disintegration’ B-side never performed live.

The band performed at a benefit show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 28 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and it loaded its set with plenty of songs squarely aimed at longtime fans, including the stage debut of ’2 Late’ (a 1989 B-side), ‘Jupiter Crash’ (which hasn’t been played in a decade), ‘Harold and Joe’ (which hasn’t been played since 1991) and ‘Freakshow’ (absent since 2008).

According to NME, frontman Robert Smith acknowledged the concert’s marathon length early on, telling the audience, ”It’s a slow-burning set tonight. How many songs are we going to do? About 45.”

During the first of three encores, Smith told the crowd that they were going to play ”a strange set of songs … now,” and dipped into cuts that reached back almost a quarter century.

In addition to the deep tracks, the Cure also played a bunch of their classics, including ‘Lovesong,’ ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Boys Don’t Cry.’ You can see the full track list below.
