Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan once claimed he fired former bassist D'arcy Wretzky "for being a mean spirited drug addict who refused to get help," but that wasn't until years after both Wretzky parted ways with the band and, just months later, was arrested in Chicago for possession of crack cocaine. Later she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to spend one month in a drug education program.
