Eddie Vedder + Liam Gallagher Cover the Who at Benefit Show

Last night (Nov. 11), the Who put on their annual Teenage Cancer Trust benefit show in London, and it was chock full of special guest performances, including Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder, Oasis’ Liam Gallagher, Rush’s Geddy Lee, the Strypes and the Distillers’ Brody Dalle.

Roger Daltrey was on-site as well to close the night out with ‘Substitute’ and ‘Young Man Blues,’ but Pete Townsend did not attend.

Those who were disappointed by the iconic Townsend’s absence were, however, treated to special renditions of the Who classics by Vedder and Gallagher.

Lucky fans in attendance caught footage of the ever-elusive Gallagher’s first appearance since the October breakup of his band, Beady Eye. He helmed the Who’s backing band for a performance of ‘My Generation,’ which you can watch in the clip above.

Vedder led the band in performances of ‘Naked Eye,’ ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ and ‘Listening to You’ — check the performances out below.

Townsend and Daltrey will appear together during the Who’s 50th anniversary world tour, which kicks off in April.
