For the uninitiated, Beady Eye formed in 2009 and were comprised of OasisLiam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. Today (Oct. 25), taking to Twitter, Gallagher announced the end of the band:

Beady Eye released two full-length albums: 2011’s ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ and 2013’s ‘BE.’ Their debut sold nearly 70,000 copies in its first week and appeared at No. 3 on the U.K. Albums chart. ‘BE’ debuted at No. 2 on the same charts when it hit the streets two years later.

Bell also offered his condolences for the band’s demise:

Beady Eye’s Twitter account hasn’t been active since February, when they made the foreshadowing announcement that they would not be playing Coachella.

Perhaps the biggest foreshadow of all, though, came from a fan’s tweet in September:

No official statement has been released by the band yet.
