Asbury Park's the Battery Electric have a way with rock and roll.

Formed less than three years ago, they have a firm grasp on what it means to create pure, unadulterated rock, blending their influences of punk and garage with blues and soul. Their sophomore effort, The Heart and the Thrill, is slated for a March 10 release via Little Dickman Records, and Diffuser is beyond excited to debut our favorite track from the disc, “Does He Love You.” Take it for a spin and crank it up in the audio player below.

Built on a solid blues foundation, "Does He Love You" highlights the band's straightforward approach to their craft, both musically and lyrically. Singing, “Does he love you / The way that I do / Does he hold you / Like I used to,” there's a little something in this song that everyone can relate to.

The band sums up the track quite clearly for us: "This is a song about a girl torn between two guys ... and obviously, I think I'm the better choice!"

If you like what you hear, you can pre-order The Heart and the Thrill via Little Dickman at this location -- and you can also pick up the Battery Electric’s debut LP, Weaving Spiders, here.

The band will be celebrating the release of their new LP on Feb. 21 at Asbury Lanes in New Jersey alongside several special guests, including Frankenstein 3000, Black Wail, Von Mons and Deal Casino. You can get all the details on the gig here.
