Grace Potter is back with new music! But instead of putting out new tunes with the Nocturnals, this one is part of her solo debut.

"Alive Tonight" -- listen above -- is an upbeat tune that has a softer and more electro-pop vibe rather than her more rock-focused work with the Nocturnals. Regardless of what exact sound she's going for, though, her vocals are strong as ever as they build near the chorus. Loving to riff on the guitar, she makes sure to include a sick solo that reminds us why we love her so much.

"We are, we are, we are alive tonight," she belts on the refrain.

Looking for something a little different on this album, Potter explored a lot of different styles and experimented in the studio, which is pretty evident with "Alive Tonight." She explained in a statement:

"Everything about this record has been a wild, wonderful odyssey. I explore new sounds with each album I write and this time around I learned to be patient and really allow each song boil down to it's most universal form. Eric Valentine's studio has a creative atmosphere that allows an artist to chase down every crazy idea while producing some of the most exciting, high quality sounds I've ever heard. It's been a life-changing experience and I can't wait to take my live show even deeper and dive into old and new songs!"

"Alive Tonight" is the first single off her upcoming solo record, Midnight, set for release this summer. This marks the first music we've heard from her since 2012's The Lion The Beast The Beat.

Feeling the track? It's now available on iTunes. Potter will be playing a number of dates in June, July and September, which include her hometown fest, Grand Point North, and Mountain Jam.
