British indie rockers the Horrors have postponed 17 dates of their upcoming fall tour due to what the band said in a statement are "circumstances beyond our control."

More than half of the North American tour dates are altered by the changes, beginning with their previously scheduled appearance on Oct. 20 in Portland. Their New York show at Stage 48 has also been changed to an earlier date on Oct. 21, with all original tickets to be honored.

"We can only apologize to anyone who already has tickets to the dates affected," wrote the band. "We hate canceling shows, but this situation was unavoidable. We’ll be back on the road next year and make sure we return to all the places we missed on this run."
