It’s Morrissey!

Yep -- that's all Morrissey. The king of mope wrote today's mystery lyrics:

"For once in my life, let me get what I want / Lord knows it would be the first time."

They come from the 1984 Smiths song 'Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want,' which was originally found on one of their early B sides, 'William, It Was Really Nothing.' It later appeared on the excellent compilation album 'Louder Than Bombs.' Morrissey pretty much sealed his fate on his band's self-titled debut album. Almost every single song on the classic record runs down a list of the singer's complaints, frustrations and disappointments. Which doesn't sound all that different from a sizable chunk of Taylor Swift's songs, does it?
