The lineup for this year's Psycho Las Vegas has been rounded out, with Mastodon stomping in as the festival's final headlining act.

The band joins a top-of-the-bill roster that includes King Diamond and the Brian Jonestown Massacre, along with a wide-ranging array of artists that runs the gamut from heavy acts like Corrosion of Conformity to hard rock vets like Ace Frehley. The event, scheduled to unfold over Aug. 18-20 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, announced Mastodon's addition to the bill through its official social media channels.

Mastodon's Psycho Las Vegas gig comes in the midst of a lengthy tour in support of the group's recently released seventh studio LP, Emperor of Sand, which cracked the Billboard Top 10 after its arrival in stores March 31. As drummer Brann Dailor explained prior to the record's release, this album serves as a reaction of sorts to health woes suffered by members of their inner circle during the years leading up to its completion.

"Emperor of Sand is like the grim reaper," said Dailor. "Sand represents time. If you or anyone you know has ever received a terminal diagnosis, the first thought is about time. Invariably, you ask, ‘How much time is left?'"

After traveling across the U.S. with Eagles of Death Metal this month, they're booked for a run of European dates that will keep them overseas through mid-summer. For ticketing information, including VIP packages at select dates, visit the band's official site.

This year's Psycho Las Vegas marks the festival's third year, and follows a 2016 lineup that boasted Alice Cooper, Electric Wizard and Fu Manchu. Tickets for Psycho Las Vegas 2017 start at $99 and run up to $249; for a more in-depth look at what each tier offers ticket holders, as well as accommodation options and other details, visit the event website.
