The National have lined up a concert for June 5 at the Barclays Center, a newly opened, 17,000-capacity arena in the band's hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y. The gig will be their first in the region since wrapping up a six-night stand at New York City's Beacon Theater back in December of 2011.

Tickets for the show, which Youth Lagoon will open, go on sale Friday (Jan. 18) via Ticketmaster. At this point, the show looks like a one-off gig and doesn't seem to be part of any tour, although that may change as the date becomes closer.

The National released their latest album, 'High Violet,' back in 2010, and little in the way of news about its follow-up has surfaced. Frontman Matt Berninger did talk about the disc with Rolling Stone back in January of 2012, saying that the band was "slowly starting to work on a new record" and adding that they "have no idea" when it will be done.
