News Bits: The Flaming Lips Head Home for Halloween Concert + More

– The Flaming Lips will return to the Oklahoma City Zoo, the scene of their 2006 live concert video ‘UFOs at the Zoo,’ for a special costume party and Halloween blowout concert. The OK City psych-rock heroes are giving away a limited number of tickets to the show, which is set for Oct. 26. [Tulsa World]

– An island off the western coast of Ireland purchased by John Lennon back in 1967 is now up for sale for nearly $400,000. The late Beatle hoped to retire on the island but of course didn’t survive long enough to begin considering such plans. Yoko Ono sold off the island to Irish farmers in 1984. [Ultimate Classic Rock]

– Los Angeles-based production duo Classixx has made a remix of ‘Move in the Right Direction,’ the second single of the Gossip‘s latest album, ‘A Joyful Noise.’ Sony hired the duo to produce the new version but never released it, so now Classixx are putting it out on their own. [Spinner]

– Imagine Dragons sold 83,000 copies of their debut album, ‘Night Visions,’ to debut at No. 2 on the latest Billboard 200 album chart, falling just behind Matchbox Twenty and their chart-topping new album, ‘North.’ Cat Power, meanwhile, lands her first-ever Top 10 debut with ‘Sun,’ which moved 23,000 units.
