Watch a Cat for Four Minutes in Parquet Courts’ ‘Sunbathing Animal’ Video

Brooklyn’s punk-rock up-and-comers Parquet Courts have unleashed a peculiar black-and-white video of a cat on a windowsill and couch for their new song ‘Sunbathing Animal.’ That’s it. Just a cat. And a windowsill. And a couch.
The spastic title track to the band’s upcoming third album is way more dizzying than that video, which is kinda serene in a cat-doing-cat-things way.
The video was directed by Andy Capper and Parquet Courts singer-guitarist Andrew Savage, and is an homage to the Replacements’ classic video for ‘Bastards of Young,’ which is basically the same thing, but with a speaker and some records instead of a cat.
The cat, named Frida (because he has a ‘stache like the famous painter Frida Kahlo), belongs to Andrew Savage. No word on the cat’s next role. So just enjoy the above video. Parquet Courts’ ‘Sunbathing Animal’ album comes out on June 2.
