Ra Ra Riot have scheduled a Jan. 22, 2013, release for their third album, 'Beta Love,' which they recorded in Oxford, Miss., with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Wavves). In advance of the release, the Brooklyn-based outfit has posted the disc's first single, which is also the title track. Check it out below.

'Beta Love' marks Ra Ra Riot's first recording since parting ways earlier this year with cellist and vocalist Alexandra Lawn, whose gorgeous string serenades and vocal harmonies were a major part of the then-quintet's trademark sound on their last album, 2010's 'The Orchard Now.' But the new single definitely offers up a different side of Ra, with electronics and synths taking a bigger role -- and so far, we'd have to say we like it.
