Kraftwerk's influence on electronic music warrants their inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
One of Europe's longest-running festivals -- both in terms of how many years it's been around and how many days it runs each year -- Denmark's Roskilde festival has announced its lineup for 2013. Kraftwerk, the National, Sigur Rós and Queens of the Stone Age are among the bands slated to headline this year's event, with nu-metal mavens Slipknot and R&B superstar Rihanna among the eclectic list of other artists at the top of the bill.
The 20th annual T in the Park festival is coming to Balado, Kinross-shire, in Scotland, from July 12-14. Kraftwerk was recently announced as this year’s headliner, and the German electronic pioneers will perform alongside Mumford and Sons, the Killers, Rihanna, Alt-J, Jake Bugg and many more.
The nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2013 have been announced, and Kraftwerk are among the 15 artists eligible for induction into the Cleveland institution next year. The top vote-getters will be inducted into the Rock Hall during a ceremony that will be held on April 18 at the Nokia Theater L.A. in Los Angeles and air on HBO at a later date.
New York City residents who weren't able to snag tickets to the opening night of Kraftwerk's eight-night residency at the Museum of Modern Art have a new alternative. Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and a host of others will be participating in 'Krautwerk 1-8 Condensed: Kraftwerk Covered,' a Kraftwerk tribute performance.
