Festival season is upon us, and with it comes the onslaught of lineup reveals.
Indie electronica act Neon Indian is actually the work of one man -- Alan Palomo -- but when he hits the stage, he's backed by a trio of fashionable young things who turn his one-man digital dance jams into a tribal gathering of the electro-vibes. With drummer Jason Faries, keyboardist-vocalist Leanne Macomber and live visuals producer Lars Larsen helping hold down the fort (teepee?) at Coachella, Palomo could do know wrong.
The term "indie" gets thrown around way too often, a lot of times being incorrectly used. However, the forthcoming Terrence Malick film 'Lawless' embodies indie in every possible way, right down to its line-up of cameos from Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Neon Indian and others. With so many hipster-approved acts on board, it should come as no surprise that 'Lawless' is being filmed in Austin, Texas, the so-called Live Music Capital of the World.
