Welcome to the first edition of Diffuser.fm's weekly Sound Off, where two bands are pitted against each other in a battle of the songs. It's up to the readers to decide which track is the best by voting for their favorite in the poll below. This week, the Big Pink are taking on Delta Spirit, and whoever wins this match will go on to face another competitor next Monday.

Fans will get to choose either the Big Pink's 'Hit the Ground (Superman)' or Delta Spirit's 'California' as the song they deem best. On 'Hit the Ground (Superman),' Big Pink's Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell implement a sample of Laurie Anderson's experimental track 'O Superman' to produce a bouncy, dreamy electro-rock song with an anthemic build up. Conversely, the guys from Delta Spirit keeps things more organic on 'California.' Just like the Sunshine State itself, Delta Spirit sheds some warmth and light on fans with fast-paced, fuzzy guitars, clamoring drums, and an exhilarating chorus on the romantic tune.

So, after listening to both songs, do you prefer the Big Pink's 'Hit the Ground (Superman)' or will Delta Spirit's 'California' find its way onto your favorite playlist? Sound off by casting your vote below. The poll will remain open until Monday, March 26 at 11AM ET.

Rules: If the same artist wins for four weeks straight, their song will be retired and inducted into Diffuser.fm’s Sound Off Hall of Fame. With so many great tracks out there, we have to give other musicians a chance to partake in our Sound Off.
