The Golden Hippie, a.k.a. Marissa Jack, is celebrating the recent release of her debut EP, Flowers on the Sunvia Hundred Handed. To document the experience of seeing the Golden Hippie live, the band recorded beautiful videos of each song being performed; today (May 14), Diffuser is thrilled to debut the performance of one of our favorite tracks from the EP, "Smoke Signals" -- check it out above.

In addition to releasing Flowers on the Sun, the Golden Hippie is also coming off of a recent run with Prince -- yes, that Prince -- on his Hit and Run tour; oh, and she was featured on "Art Official Cage," the opening track to Prince's Art Official Age.

Her new EP highlights her vast base of influences, fusing funk and soul with beautiful rock and roll, all built around her powerful vocals.

"'Smoke Signals' is all about living your dreams, learning from the lives of the ones before us, and recognizing the value of our souls and purpose," the Golden Hippie tells us. "I love performing this song live because it's haunting and such an energy release. Lauren [violinist] really encompasses the free spirit in me when she takes on her solo in the bridge."

You can pick up the Golden Hippie's new EP, Flowers on the Sun, here, and make sure to stay up-to-date with everything happening in her world at her official Facebook page.
