If you’ve seen Cameron Crowe’s 2000 film ‘Almost Famous,’ you’re probably familiar with its recurring line, “It’s all happening.” We have a feeling the guys of Australian five-piece the Rubens have a similar sentiment running through their heads these days.

After their demos caught the ear of David Kahne, the Grammy-winning producer (Paul McCartney, the Strokes, Regina Spektor) helped the quintet record their self-titled debut, which went gold in Australia. The Rubens’ good fortune is now transcending borders, as they’re on a U.S. tour opening for Grouplove, and their album lands stateside today (Sept. 10). To say their future looks bright would be an understatement.

In anticipation of their tour, the Rubens recorded a mash-up of their single ‘My Gun’ and their tourmates’ ‘Ways to Go,’ and now there’s a video to go along with the track. Check out Diffuser’s exclusive premiere of the clip, in which lead singer Sam Margin — equipped with the camera in one hand and a microphone in the other — films as he, his brothers Elliott (keyboard) and Zac Margin (guitar), Scott Baldwin (drums) and William Zeglis (bass) perform in close quarters.

If you like what you hear, grab the Ruben’s debut on iTunes and catch them live with Grouplove this fall.
