2013 Grammys: Skrillex’s ‘Bangarang’ Wins Best Dance Recording, Album
Skrillex has won the 2013 Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album -- the former for the song 'Bangarang,' the latter for the so-titled EP on which it appears. The EDM kingpin has now gone three for three at this year's ceremony, as he and Nero picked up Best Remixed Recording earlier this evening for 'Promises.'
'Bangarang,' Skrillex's fourth EP, dropped digitally back in December 2011 and arrived on CD shortly thereafter. The collection topped the U.S. Dance/Electronic Albums chart and sneaked into the mainstream Billboard 200, reaching no. 14. The set earned mixed reviews, and in a write-up for Spin, Garrett Kamps offered measured praise.
"Like cans of Monster Energy Drink, this collection is spracked out and ridiculous and fun and sometimes disposable, just one more shard of debris left in this kid's wake, and his generation's," he wrote.
