Even the most discriminating music fan should be able to find at least one band to get excited for during October's CMJ Music Marathon.

The New York City festival has just revealed a staggering 700 bands set to join the likes of Gerard Way, the Kills and Slowdive who are playing the festival Oct. 21-25 in New York City.

Among those just announced: noise-rock outfit A Place to Bury Strangers and indie group DIIV (who will make their first appearances at CMJ since 2008 and 2012, respectively), New Zealand's Popstrangers, the Crookes out of the U.K. and Hockey from Portland, Ore.

More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, but you can try to keep up with the full list here.
