American Authors Tour Blog: Brooklyn Risers Talk Partying With Airborne Toxic Event + More [Photos]
Coming out of the musical hotbed of Brooklyn, N.Y., American Authors specialize in a summery, hyper-melodic strain of pop-rock. The quartet recently issued a self-titled EP, and the tracks ‘Best Day of My Life’ and ‘Believer’ are gaining traction via good old fashioned word-of-mouth buzz.
American Authors have been out on a run of U.S. live dates with Airborne Toxic Event, and the band recently sent Diffuser.fm some exclusive photos from the road, as well as a recap of some of their adventures.
We kicked off the tour with two dates in Virginia (Richmond followed by Norfolk). While the weather was hot, both cities' venues provided plenty of backstage entertainment, including hot tubs, basketball courts, ping-pong, billiards, foosball and beer ... lots of beer. The shows were great, and everyone who came out to party was a blast.
The third show in Baltimore, MD, was really where we finally locked in our performance. With our debut EP finally available, we have introduced new songs and a new flow to our set that we really felt locked in at rams head live on Thursday. Playing to the largest crowd yet of tour, the audience seemed engaged and eager to hear new music. With more than a week left of shows, we're excited to make new friends, play our entire EP live and see what adventures lie ahead for us and Airborne."
