Dizgo, The Bloomington Psychedelic Rock Band, Releases Innerstate

Diffuser sat down with members of Dizgo, the “relentlessly funky and dancy” psychedelic rock band from Bloomington, Indiana, to talk about their tour, their new album ‘Innerstate,’ and more. Dizgo is a quartet that is currently on a robust US tour, including a show with Space Bacon this Friday at Brooklyn Bowl. Check out the full interview below.

Who is Dizgo?

Two childhood friends Andrew Pickel and Kevin Hinnefeld formed Dizgo, which began with "two guitars, a tape recorder, and a dream - literally." Later joined by Jake Evatt on keys/vocals and Justin Clark on drums, the Bloomington-based quartet has evolved into a jamband staple at festivals and legendary venues accross the country, including a show tonight at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY and tomorrow night at the Brookly Bowl.

New Album Dropped October 9th

Innerstate is Dizgo's fourth studio album, featurning thirteen tracks. "Exit 59," "Intuition," and "Orbital" were all released prior to the full album to give us a taste, and when chatting with the band, a great starting point for newcomers to Dizgo or the album is "Exit 59," a track that embodies exactly what the band set out to accomplish on their journey. According to the band, Innerstate is "about movement, self-discovery, transformation, and interconnectedness."

The album is "relentlessly funky" with some deep jams, which certainly are taking on new life when played on their current tour. Dizgo worked with Grammy Award-winning producer, Vance Powell, leveling up their studio work in a big way. This body of work coupled with their creative flow and tour has opened a door to big possibilities for Dizgo. Take it for a ride!

Dizgo Tour

Dizgo is currently on a massive tour to celebrate the release of the new album, which commenced in Atlanta, then down south, and will continue up the east coast, then throughout the midwest and out west as well. It is clear that Dizgo is "in the pocket," and a live show to add to the queue for fall/winter.

Dizgo is a total vibe, and clearly enjoying the ride, and gaining velocity at every stop. Catch the vibe, listen to the album, and enjoy Dizgo as they continue to level up in real time.
