Electronic duo Boards of Canada excited their sizable fan base with a three-letter Facebook post on Monday that seemed to confirm they are working on a new album, but their label says the group isn't planning to release a record anytime soon.

On the group's Facebook wall, a fan posted, "Rumors of a new BOC album are rife? Any truth in this?" The response from the band was simply "Yes," which led to a frenzy of comments from giddy fans eager to hear the new music.

Then a rep for Warp Records seemingly crushed everyone's hopes by telling Pitchfork, "They are definitely working on new material, but there is nothing in the cards at the moment in terms of a scheduled release."

But the two statements don't necessarily contradict each other. Boards of Canada merely said that yes, they are planning a new album — they didn't say it would be coming out in the near future. Warp acknowledges the band is recording new stuff, so for fans who have been waiting for something new from the duo since 2006's 'Trans Canada Highway,' at least now there's a glimmer of hope. Stay tuned!
