Best Coast have announced they will release their third album, California Nights, on May 5 via Harvest Records. Along with the good news, the L.A. duo has shared a brief trailer for the album, which features a snippet of what sounds like the upcoming LP’s title track. Check it out in the video above.

If the trailer is any indication, it appears the surf-rock twosome – which consists of frontwoman Bethany Costentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno – won’t be traveling too far from their roots on the forthcoming full-length. The excerpt reveals Costentino once again declaring her love for the West Coast, singing, “California nights make me so happy I could die.”

In a statement, the band said, “So excited to be getting back out there and so excited to share this album with the world” (via Spin).

California Nights will follow Best Coast’s 2010 debut, Crazy for You, and their sophomore follow-up, The Only Place, which arrived back in 2012.

Last fall, Costentino joined Weezer for a stripped-down rendition of “Go Away,” a song that appeared on the Rivers Cuomo-led rockers’ most recent album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. You can watch that here.
