Goose Announces Fall Tour And Official Release of ‘BIG MODERN!’
Indie groove rock band, Goose, has announced full details of their upcoming fall headline tour along with the arrival or their sixth studio album BIG MODERN!, which drops in full on June 12th. Fall tour dates begin November 3 at Kansas City’s The Midland Theatre for a two-night stand and continue through the entire month. In addition, the tour will include a three-night stand at Milwaukee’s Miller High Life Theatre (November 6-8), Nashville’s The Truth (November 10-11), Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena (November 13-14), and Pittsburgh’s Citizens Live at The Wylie (November 19-20).
BIG MODERN! includes the recently released singles “Torero” and “Good2B,” which have already received much attention since their creative tease and viral video with actor Jake Lacy, along with attending a New York Knicks game while sitting courside with Lacy in yellow jumpsuits.
"As I see it, all these ideas we’ve been playing with are an absurdist reflection of the confusion of existing in today’s world,” Goose singer-guitarist Rick Mitarotonda told Rolling Stone. “Over-stated guerrilla marketing campaign with zero context or direct connection to anything, video of a five-minute rant from an unhinged executive, showing up at an NBA game in ridiculous sweatsuits…The album is a dispatch from interesting times, without judgment or superiority. We’re all in it the same – the exhilarating, disorienting experience of constantly being so ‘connected’. The overstimulating, high-resolution world of content streaming directly into your brain, in real time, all the time…”
“Good2B” is groove-heavy, catchy, and certainly a window into the current Goose vibe, demonstrating no shortage of creativity and fresh content. It’s a happy song that lends itself to dancing and mood-lifting. The real test will be how it evolves in real time and whether it turns into a “goontz” banger. “Torero” captured me from the start with its infectious beat, and clearly shows how the band is evolving in real time, taking new risks in the studio. Goose will play their songs live long before they hit an album, and no doubt the "Big Modern” jams live have been some pinnacle moments of live Goose over the past year for me personally and super fans alike.
The Connecticut born band has been on a steady incline over the past few years catalyzed by a four-show run at the legendary Capitol Theatre in April 2024, where fans still refer to the “Myst” as one of the legendary jams in history, where they introduced their Burlinton, VT based drummer, Cotter Ellis; he joined band leader and lead guitarist and vocalist Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach (keys, guitar, vocals), and Trevor Weekz (bass). Since that legendary “Cap” run, Goose has had an abundance of watershed moments, including a sold out Madison Square Garden show last June, Goose also launched three studio and one live album, and is currently on tour in Europe after their second destination festival in Mexico. Goose is no doubt a band that is in the pocket, and creating a next-level vibe that sends their fans and venues into another dimension with their peak-heavy jams, electrifying chemistry, and a full embrace of each moment.
