If you're excited to see what will happen when Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong gets together with Christina Aguilera on the next season of 'The Voice,' good news: Extra recently sat down with the freshly minted co-workers for a brief interview regarding their thoughts on what viewers can expect from their pairing.

The spotlight remained mostly on Aguilera during the interview, partly because the host wanted to know how she felt about Mariah Carey joining 'American Idol' and Britney Spears being part of 'The X Factor.' But it wasn't all about the divas competing for ratings -- Aguilera also took time to talk up Billie Joe's involvement in 'The Voice.'

Lauding the Green Day singer as "kind of amazing" and pointing out that "he's had a tremendous amount of success in the business," Aguilera said Armstrong joining the show "was very intriguing because he comes from a completely different genre of music than I do."

Also, she added, "He's had tremendous obvious stage experience and touring and I knew he would have some amazing advice and input."

Armstrong remained the strong, silent type during most of the segment, but he did reveal that "there was a choice between another coach" and Aguilera, quipping that he chose her because "I like singers, not drummers."

After pretending to leave the set after taking what seemed to be a dig at fellow 'Voice' mentor Adam Levine, Armstrong sat down again for the question of whether he and Aguilera would perform together on the show. "Stranger things have happened," mused Aguilera, prompting Armstrong to say, "I'll write something."
