Black Rebel Motorcycle Club fans have had to be patient while waiting for new music from the band, but early next year, all that endurance will finally pay off.

The group's set to release its eighth studio album, titled Wrong Creatures, on Jan. 12, 2018, ending a drought between full-length releases that stretches back to 2013's Specter at the Feast. In the interim, the band members have faced a number of creative detours and opportunities for growth — perhaps most notably in 2014, when singer Robert Levon Been teamed up with the surviving members of his father Michael's band, the Call, to record a live tribute to their work.

BRMC's long layoff also gave the band members an opportunity to recharge after years of heavy touring. "It’s a crazy making machine, it can chew you up as fast as it spits you out. A few years back we literally toured till the wheels came off," explained Been via press release. "It catches up with you ... you just gotta keep pushing buttons to see what happens."

Fans can already hear a pair of pre-release tracks from the new LP: "Haunt," which you can stream above, and "Little Thing Gone Wild," which you can check out below. Available as instant downloads with digital pre-orders of Wrong Creatures, they offer a small sample of an album Been sees as an extension of their singular sound. "We are truly an island – come hell or high water, so it’s usually best to dress accordingly," he added. "Though I’m not sure what the proper attire is when drowning in fire. But leather usually goes with everything."

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are also set to begin a North American tour in 2018, starting several days before Wrong Creatures is released and continuing through at least late February.
