If the news that legendary New York punk club CBGB would reborn as a theme restaurant in Newark Airport didn't already ruin your holidays, this probably will: The holding company in charge of the CBGB name and logo has extensive plans to continue destroying the venue's indie cred.

Politco's Alex Weprin reports that 315 Bowery Holdings LLC (the address of the original CBCB) has filed for trademark protection on the production of not just relatively innocuous T-shirts, bags and beanies, but also CBGB branded umbrellas, cellphone cases, onesies for infants and baby bibs.

There's also now photographic evidence that the restaurant in the New Jersey airport does in fact exist – and features an iPad ordering system.
