In 1996, Jared "Dirty J" Watson and Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell formed the Calif.-based alt-rock outfit, Dirty Heads. Since the mid-'90s, the two have been fusing their rock with hip-hop, ska, reggae and more. Today, on April 20, Duddy shares his thoughts on marijuana.

Okay, so instead of writing a long, drawn-out article on the ups and downs of cannabis I thought I would just make a quick list of my five reasons why I am for the legalization of marijuana.

Here we go.

1. First and foremost: Medical use.

It has been proven time and time again that it helps patients through pain and nausea. It helps stimulate an appetite for patients who have lost theirs due to medical treatment. It helps with seizure disorders, glaucoma, muscle spasms, headaches, insomnia and so much more. I really could go on and on about this topic so I’ll just leave it at that for now.

2. It just makes me feel good.

It calms me down and relieves my stress. Most of you might not know this but some people think I can be quite the a--hole sometimes if I don't have any pot. Though, those people are all a--holes, too, because they don't have any pot either.

3. It helps me focus when I'm writing music.

I can tune out all the other things going on in my head at that moment and really sink into the song. Don't get me wrong, I can write a song without smoking pot ... it's just not quite as much fun.

4. Watch a dumb comedy ...

... then smoke a bunch of pot with some friends and watch the same dumb comedy again. It is now the best movie you have ever seen! You're welcome.

5. It is, by far, the world's number one cure for a hangover.

Drink your coconut water, take your Advil or whatever hangover remedy you have come up with throughout the years. I don't care, you're still gonna feel like s--- in the morning after a long night of drinking. But here comes Miss Mary Jane to take away your pain!

Thank you Marijuana, you truly are my best friend.

Reasons I am against legalization:

If any of you could help me fill in the blanks on the negative side of cannabis, please call me at 1-800-YOURE-A-NAZI and I'll be sure to get back to you never.

Enjoy your 420 everyone.
