Never a band to do anything half-heartedly, the Flaming Lips have announced what they are going to release for Record Store Day on April 21. 'The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends,' a double-album comprised of 13 collaborations with artists from across the musical spectrum, including Bon Iver, Erykah Badu, Jim James and, um, Ke$ha.

But don't worry, Wayne Coyne and company aren't going the route taken by Tony Bennett or Lionel Richie by putting out newly recorded duets of their best-known songs (at least not yet). Ten of these songs have never been released before. The duets with Neon Indian, Prefuse 73 and Lightning Bolt were briefly available on limited-edition EPs in the past year.

As with those EPs, 'The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends' will only be pressed once on high-quality, multi-color vinyl and should sell out quickly. While anything new by the Flaming Lips is fine by us, we're not too sure of the idea of them working with Ke$ha. We may have to skip over that one for fear of getting herpes.
