When Thom Yorke released his second solo full-length without warning, fans were taken a bit by surprise. We knew Radiohead had started work on their next studio release, but we had no idea Yorke also had plans for ‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.’ Even more surprising was the way it was released -- via BitTorrent.

The eight-track digital download is available for six dollars; for fans who don’t want to drop the cash before hearing the album, there is a free bundle available that features the opening track, ‘A Brain In a Bottle,’ as well as its music video.

Within the first 24 hours of being available, 116,000 people downloaded the free bundle, according to NME.

Earlier this week (Sept. 23), Yorke confirmed that Radiohead did overdubs during the second day of recording their ninth studio album. Get more details here.
