As avid music fans everywhere lined up at shops around the world yesterday (April 18) in celebration of Record Store Day, Future Islands shared their exclusive RSD single, "The Chase," while on Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC Radio 6's morning show. Listen to the track here around the 2:19:00 mark, or in the player below:

The song, which the band previously debuted in concert, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in the U.K. and only one vinyl copy was produced, which was sold at Seismic Records in Warwickshire Saturday morning. Prior to the song being debuted on Hobbs' radio show, the band was interviewed, with frontman Samuel T. Herring commenting on the release: "The funny thing was that after three and a half hours of preparation, it took three minutes to make the record, which I think was the amazing thing in the end. It's totally crazy. It's stressful!"

Future Islands are currently working on their fifth studio album, due out later this year. It will serve as a follow-up to 2014's highly-acclaimed release, Singles. Singles' lead track, "Seasons (Waiting on You)," made our Best Song of the Year list.
