Green Day Added to 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Lineup

Has Kevin Hart joined Green Day? That's the scenario presented in the latest promo video for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, as the comedian wanders into the middle of a Green Day rehearsal session, unpacks a tuba and announces to Billie Joe and the boys that they have a new band mate. 

Apparently the promo clip reveals that Green Day have joined the lineup of performers lined up for the annual awards extravaganza, which will air live on Sept. 6 at 8PM ET/7PM CT on MTV, although it doesn't actually point this out. No matter -- watching Green Day interact with their supposed new mate is a barrel of laughs, except when he actually tries to play new single 'Oh Love' with the band. "We sound like s---," Hart announces, and we're not going to argue with him there.
