First, Billie Joe Armstrong strayed from sobriety, then Green Day strayed from their itinerary, and now, the band has released a new single titled 'Stray Heart,' which you can listen to below. Is there something more going on than meets the eye?

Conspiracy theories aside, mere weeks after Amrstrong's onstage meltdown in Las Vegas -- and directly following the news that GD have nixed their Oct. 27 appearance at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience festival in New Orleans due to Billie's rehab stint that followed said meltdown -- Green Day have unleashed 'Stray Heart.' It's the first single from their forthcoming ‘¡Dos!’ album, the second swing in a one-two-three punch of new discs titled ‘¡Uno!,' ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tre!’ being released over the course of several months.

'Stray Heart' seems to follow the garage-rock blueprint first explored by the GD offshoot Foxboro Hot Tubs and hinted at on other recent tracks issued by the band. "Everything I want, I want from you/ But I just can't have you," Amrstrong sings, perhaps foreshadowing the loneliness he now feels as rehab keeps him separated from his legions of fans. Regardless, most strays eventually find their way -- and hopefully it won't be long until BJA is back where he belongs, up on the stage and singing from the depths of his hand-grenade heart.
