Watch Jello Biafra Join Dead Cross for a Trump-Inspired Rendition of ‘Nazi Punks F— Off’

Dead Cross rolled into Berkeley on Aug. 23, inviting local legend Jello Biafra up on stage to join them for a Donald Trump-inspired version of the Dead Kennedys classic "Nazi Punks F--- Off."

The Berkeley show marked the group's second gig since being forced to cancel an Aug. 21 appearance in Los Angeles after frontman Mike Patton injured himself before the concert. Given that Patton's accident occurred right before the show — the cancellation was announced from the stage after the openers finished their set — it was easy to fear the worst, but it turns out to have been a fairly minor, albeit potentially scary, skateboarding incident.

"He thought he could skateboard to the show last night but he suffered a bad wipe out on the way," the band explained. "The remainder of Dead Cross’ tour will go on as planned."

After making up the L.A. show the following night, the group ventured to Berkeley, where Patton gave Biafra a suitably enthusiastic introduction before handing over the mic. "Two words," he told the crowd. "Jello. Biafra."

Biafra — sporting a 'Nazi Trumps F--- Off' t-shirt to match the band — borrowed Patton's hat as well as his mic for the number, quipping that "Mariah Carey was supposed to do this song, but that turned out to be fun with fake news" and leading off the song with a cry of "so now more than ever...Nazi Trump f--- off!"

And as for those shirts? They've been big business for Biafra since last year's election. As he told Rolling Stone in January, Trump's ascension to the presidency has spurred a backlash that's been great for his label's bottom line. "The one silver lining I'd rather not have from all the hell that's gone down," he said, "is that our Nazi Trumps F--- Off shirts have been flying out the door at Alternative Tentacles and done more to keep us in business than the music we try to get people hip to."
