Joanna Newsom Announces North American Tour, Will Screen ‘Divers’ Video in Theaters

Back in August, Joanna Newsom announced she would return with her first new album since 2010’s Have One on Me. Divers will arrive later this month, and come December, Newsom will embark on a North American tour in support of the forthcoming LP.

The run of dates kicks off on Dec. 6 in Boston. The singer-songwriter has 10 more stops scheduled, culminating with a concert in Madison, Wis., on Dec. 18. Check out the itinerary at the bottom of the page.

Newsom has also announced that the music video for Divers’ title track will receive a big screen release. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson -- who also worked with Newsom for her role in his 2014 movie Inherent Vice -- the video was filmed in New York City and prominently features the artwork of Kim Keever.

The video will run in select theaters across the U.S. between Oct. 16-22, the week prior to Divers’ release. Then, it will premiere in the U.K. on Oct. 27. See a complete list of screenings below.

Divers is due out Oct. 23 on Drag City. Previously, Newsom shared another Anderson-directed video for the album’s lead single, “Sapokanikan.”
