John Lydon’s Memoir, ‘Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored,’ Will Arrive in the U.S. in April
Last year, John Lydon’s -- a.k.a. notorious ex-Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten -- memoir, Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored, arrived on shelves in the U.K. Now, it’s received a North American release date of April 28 via Dey Street Books. Check out the book cover below:
Anger Is an Energy is Lydon’s second memoir, following 1994’s Rotten: No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish. The Public Image Ltd. frontman will discuss his forthcoming book with Pitchfork’s Brandon Stosuy at New York City’s Saint Vitus Bar on the day of its release. If you’re in the area and would like to attend, all you have to do is purchase the book. You can also submit questions for Lydon and Stosuy’s Q&A; both can be done here.
At the end of last year, Lydon’s work with the Sex Pistols was recognized as one of the 2015 Grammy Hall of Fame inductees. The band’s iconic 1977 debut, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, joined a class that included Lou Reed’s 1972 song, “Walk On the Wild Side,” Leonard Cohen’s 1967 full-length, Songs of Leonard Cohen, Neil Young’s classic 1972 work, Harvest and Bob Dylan’s 1975 full-length, Blood on the Tracks -- just to name a few.
