Josh Homme Calls Out Autograph Reseller at Detroit Concert
Josh Homme called out a guy looking to resell his autograph at a recent stop on the Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal artist’s tour with Iggy Pop.
TMZ obtained footage (see above) of Homme yelling at a man at the Detroit stop of the Post Pop Depression tour. The QOTSA leader can be seen momentarily grabbing the man and calling him a “f---ing asshole,” “full of s---" and an “entitled, spoiled asshole.” TMZ reported Homme was getting short with a fan looking for an autograph, but as Consequence of Sound points out, an eye-witness set the record straight. The man in question was actually one of many waiting in line with multiple items to be signed in order to resell them online and in memorabilia shops. In fact, Homme offered to take photos with fans present. Read the concertgoer's account below:
I was at this in Detroit and was right next to Josh when this happened. TMZ cut out the angry comments made by the ‘fan’/autograph hound, and it’s unfair to Josh that they did that. Josh wasn’t signing autographs because there were obvious eBay sellers there (multiple items, lying to get stuff signed for their kids, etc), but he said he would take pictures with everybody. Suddenly, the autograph hounds weren’t interested. When Josh started taking pictures with people, the autograph hound (who talked about reselling the autographs while we were waiting outside) then said “do you know how much we made off you tonight”, which was a reply to Josh saying that he didn’t want anything ending up on eBay. Taking pictures with fans was generous, and I just thought I’d set the record straight!
It’s too bad, because the concert was likely an awesome homecoming for Pop and a great gig for everyone involved otherwise. The tour continues tonight (April 11) in Boston.
