Kaiser Chiefs Return With ‘Misery Company,’ Lead Single On Forthcoming Fifth Album
Kaiser Chiefs are readying their fifth album, 'Education, Education, Education & War,' and with their just-dropped single 'Misery Company,' the U.K. indie mainstays seem to focus on the last word of the disc's long title, serving up boot-stomping beats and lyrics about never knowing what in the heck mankind is fighting for.
By the sound of it, frontman Ricky Wilson gets a kick out of the world's predicament, and the most memorable thing about the tune -- after the bunker-busting guitar solo toward the end -- is his laughing "ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha" refrain.
Wilson isn't only concerned with global matters, though. He recently signed on as a coach on the U.K. version of 'The Voice' -- a gig that will likely help the Chiefs promote their forthcoming disc. Recorded with producer Ben H. Allen III, whose credits include Deerhunter and Animal Collective, 'Education, Education, Education & War' arrives via ATO on April Fool's Day.
