Kit Walters is a mastermind of rock and roll; barely old enough to vote, he was already fronting a progressive metal band and producing records with a number of outfits, including A Skylit Drive and letlive. As the years have come and gone, Walters hasn't slowed down one bit, and today (Jan. 20), Diffuser is beyond excited to premiere his latest tune, 'No Mercy,' from his newest project -- the aptly titled KIT. Check out the track in the audio player below.

From deep and thoughtful croons to downright explosive rock, 'No Mercy' blends a number of styles into one vigorously gritty and raw song -- one that is very important to Walters.

"The track is a deeply personal one for me. It came to me out of the blue one night -- I wasn't trying to write a song, but it came to be none the less," Walters tells us. "I wrote, tracked and cut the whole thing within one sitting. I'm sure it will mean different things to different people, but for me, it completely encapsulates my world over the past few years: the good, the bad, the ups and the downs."

He goes on about 'No Mercy,' "It's a realization of who I am and who I'm not. My strengths and weaknesses, glory and shame -- it's about making peace with all of that. When the rubber meets the road, all we truly have lies within the four walls through which we perceive our world. The greatest pleasure in life comes from doing what others say cannot be done. 'No Mercy' is a track that pays homage to all the people who told me I would never be standing on the ground I am today."
