Low Announce New Album, ‘Ones and Sixes’ + Share ‘No Comprende’
Low announced today that their next record, Ones and Sixes, will arrive September 11 via Sub Pop. The band also premiered "No Comprende," a song that exhibits their trademark slow, guitar-centric alt-rock.
The band's follow-up to 2013's The Invisible Way was recorded at Justin Vernon's April Base Studios in Eau Claire, Wisc. with B.J. Burton, who has worked on albums by Sylvan Esso, the Tallest Man on Earth and Trampled by Turtles. The Invisible Way was produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, but it sounds like Ones and Sixes was produced by the band with assistance from Burton.
"Working two or three days at a time, leaving it with B.J., then back again for more, we don't have the time or money to second-guess or pick from a pool of possibilities," Low's Alan Sparhawk said in a statement. "This is the whole thought -- the untamed truth. This is now. This is everything."
The band also released a string of tour dates, including four stops in China. Check out the dates, as well as the cover art for Ones and Sixes and a YouTube stream of "No Comprende," below.
