After announcing their first show in 20 years, Lush indicated they were also planning to issue their first new music since 1996’s Lovelife. Now, the English alt-rockers have confirmed that release.

Lush will drop the Blind Spot EP on April 22 on their own label, Edamame. (You can pre-order it right here.) It will boast four brand-new tracks (see below), including opening cut “Out of Control.” The band has shared a Mark Anderson-directed video for the dreamy new song; check it out at the top of the page.

Blind Spot features songs written by Lush’s Emma Anderson and Miki Berenyi. It was produced by Ladytron’s Daniel Hunt and Jim Abbiss. Previously, Lush said the new EP would precede a full-length expected later this year. When speaking about Blind Spot in a press release, Berenyi said the band naturally fell back into the swing of things:

It certainly took some time to set up, but once we were in the studio, everything came together incredibly quickly. It was great fun! It’s been a long time since I’ve written Lush lyrics, and I realised early on with this EP that what I wrote about then is not what I feel comfortable writing about now. My perspective, and what is close to my heart, has changed, and I think that’s conveyed in the songs.

Since announcing their forthcoming show at the Roundhouse in London back in September, it has expanded into a full-blown reunion jaunt. The band will make U.S. stops in L.A., San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, New York City, Boston, Chicago, D.C. and Philadephia. They’ll also play this year’s Coachella.
