Lykke Li's been on a break from performing since January, but that hasn't stopped her from making a jarring video for "Never Gonna Love Again," from her 2014 album, I Never Learn. The clip, directed by Philippe Tempelman, features the Swedish singer involved in a somber, rainy day car crash. Watch the video above.

"Loneliness and heartbreak follow you everywhere and they are loudest right after the lights go out and the crowds quiet," she said, speaking to Rolling Stone about the video. "Here's an intimate glimpse of how it can be to live your dream whilst stuck in your dream. In the lonely wolf hour, the night becomes your stage, the stars your audience, the rain your memories."

Li's break isn't going to last much longer, as she's set to return to the stage at Coachella later this month. Until then, read the original announcement of her hiatus that she posted on Instagram:

I AM UTTERLY DEVASTATED, SOMETIMES WE PUSH AND PUSH BUT THE BODY SIMPLY WON’T FOLLOW. I GAVE IT ALL I HAD, MY BODY, HEART AND SOUL. AFTER 7 YEARS OF TOURING MY HEALTH IS SCREAMING/BEGGING FOR ME TO LISTEN/HEAL/SLOW DOWN.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UNDERSTANDING. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO MY BLEEDING HEART AND WATCHING ME DANCE IN THE DARK THESE PAST YEARS. I LOVE YOU. I WILL COME BACK. STRONGER. BUT FOR NOW MY LOVES, I HAVE TO REST. U CAN’T ALWAYS “WIN”…. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES!!! YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME. CHOOSE LIGHT AND LIFE! LIFE IS EBB N FLOW, HIGH N LOW. BUT WE KEEP ON. I WILL MISS YOU SO. X
