What's a young actress to do with her downtime when she's on one of cable's hottest shows, but forced to deal with an extended hiatus between every season? For 'Mad Men' star Jessica Paré, Friday night's (Aug. 3) answer to this question was "contribute surprise guest vocals during a Jesus and Mary Chain show in Buffalo."

Paré, who has played Megan Draper on the show for the past two seasons, joined the band for 'Sometimes Always' -- originally a duet with Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval -- and 'Just Like Honey.'

While this isn't the first time we've heard her sing -- she performed the French pop hit 'Zou Bisou Bisou' on 'Mad Men' during the Season 5 premiere -- it marks her public debut with a real live rock band. Given that she's reportedly dating John Kastner, the Montreal-based singer for punk bands Asexuals and Doughboys, perhaps we can look forward to hearing her branch out soon.

Paré's appearance was undoubtedly a surprise for the fans in attendance at Friday's show, but the Jesus and Mary Chain have something of a history of sharing the stage with well-known actresses -- Scarlett Johansson popped in for a cameo during the band's set at Coachella in 2007, singing backup vocals on 'Just Like Honey.'
