Musical inspiration can strike at any time, and for Rebecca Davina Bortman (My First Earthquake/Happy Fangs), 'Bodies' began as a tune she recorded on her cell phone one night. Now, it's the debut single from Molina Davina, the new music partnership she formed with Mercury Rev bassist and acclaimed producer Anthony Molina. Diffuser.fm is pleased to present the exclusive premiere -- stream it below.

Molina and Davina first began working together in 2005, when Molina assisted Davina with her debut demo. Since then, she has continued to travel from San Francisco to Kingston, N.Y., to record and mix her tracks at his White Light Recording Studio, making Molina Davina a bi-coastal musical project.

“‘Bodies’ is about the humanly balance of passion and pain," Davina tells us. "I wrote this song in a moment. It just flowed out of me one night and into my cell phone. I started singing because I liked the echo in my kitchen, but what kept me singing was the crazy situation I was in at that moment. I was experiencing the most pleasure in my life -- in love with two men at once, while witnessing the pain of a close friend fight Leukemia. I was overwhelmed by how strong and fearless we are until we realize we are fragile.”

Molina Davina is also readying a video for 'Bodies,' directed by Sundance-selected filmmaker Jesus Beltran of Zumpango Films.
