Morrissey has more pull than Paul McCartney, at least when it comes to getting others to adhere to his meat-free lifestyle. The singer, who has been canceling shows due to a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's esophagus, which is a chronic throat condition, has managed to get the food vendors at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to be 100 percent meat-free at his March 1 show.

All of the venue's food vendors will offer vegetarian menus, while McDonald's will shut down for the night, according to Rolling Stone. This is the first time that the arena -- home of the L.A. Lakers -- has gone meatless.

A portion of the proceeds from tickets to the Moz show will be donated to PETA. Now, how does Paul McCartney factor in? Well, he requested his show at the Staples Center be meatless but was denied. For his part, Moz doesn't see this as a tit-for-tat thing or a case of triumphing over a living legend.

"I don't look upon it as a victory for me, but a victory for the animals," he said.

Let's hope he's able to see this victory through, and that it's not all for naught, since he's had to cancel a slew of gigs in recent weeks.
